Presentation of the findings of an adhesiolysis with “Confluent Spraygel”
that was performed by Dr. Mathias Korell in Duisburg, Germany one week
earlier.
The results of this patients second look procedure was withheld from
those attending this conference until Dr. Kortell arrived and shared his
findings by picture and abstracts!
Everyone attending this session waited eagerly to hear these results…Bev
Doucette included! Camera crews from various news stations filmed a bit
of the “Confluent Spraygel” booth in which demonstrations were being done,
Camera crews from various news stations filmed a bit of the “Confluent

booth in which demonstrations were being done, as they waited along
with the rest of us to hear the results of Dr. Korell’s adhesiolysis procedures
on the patient from Canada using the “Spraygel!”
And people strolled, chatted, ate, had coffee after coffee, and waited….
Finally the the call came to take our seats as Dr. Korell had arrived!
Lights dimmed, room hushed, and all eyes were on Dr. Korell’s screen as
he opened his presentation with his surgical results using Confluent Spraygel!
The results of this special ground breaking adhesiolysis showed pictures
“before “Spraygel” and “after Spraygel. The “before” pictures showed the
patients peritoneal cavity with dense adhesions, and
The “after” pictures, second look at 7 days post initial surgery showed
a clean, pink and healthy peritoneum void of adhesions! The applause was
thunderous, as was the hand shaking, grins ear to ear, laughter, and an
all over feeling of being part of something that would change the world
of surgery as we knew it that morning!

What could I say other then this was the best news I have heard since
starting my walk as a victim of “Adhesion Related Disorder!” Confluent
Spraygel, in my opinion, equates to hope, and that is not something a person
afflicted with ARD has ever had before today!
Dr. Korell & Beverly Doucette can finally share their excitement
and enthusiasm for their friend” Mary Pomroy” of Canadfa! Simply thrilling!
The two days later Bev was able to travel to Duisburg to spend some
time with Mary, and listen to her many plans as she looked into her future!
Who Is All this fuss about anyway???
Well, here she is, my friend and your lifesaver…

Mary could not come to the USA as the Canadian Health
Care System refused to assist with medical costs here, however, costs in
Germany were comparable to the Canadian costs, and Dr. Korell was using
an adhesion barrier that was not available in the USA or Canada ata the
time of Mary’s surgical needs.

VIth International Symposium on Peritoneum (PAX meeting),
April 10-12, 2003 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
RAI World Conference Center
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We have the honour and great pleasure to invite you to attend the VIth
International Symposium on Peritoneum (PAX meeting), which will take place
April 10-12, 2003 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
The venue for the meeting will be the Academic Medical Centre, in the
RAI World Conference Center which is located 20 minutes from the heart
of the city.
Since the last meeting in Grantham in 1999 research on peritoneal adhesions,
tumour growth and minimal trauma surgery as well as studies on adhesion
prevention have continued and basic and clinical experiences have rapidly
grown. The PAX meeting has become a very good forum promoting a broad discussion
on the various aspects of peritoneal injury and repair and encouraging
interaction between pre-clinical and clinical researchers, including surgeons,
gynaecologists, nephrologists, biochemists, internists, molecular biologists
and others interested in this field.
We are looking forward to have you taking part in an exciting scientific
programme that will comprise of free papers,
posters and invited lectures.
Amsterdam is the capital of The Netherlands that hardly needs an introduction.
Famous because of its historical buildings, theatres, museums, and the
ease with other cultures and languages your stay will be very pleasant
and most of all unforgettably.
We welcome you all to The Netherlands with the conviction that this
will be a great meeting.

Enjoying this beautiful old clock, along with many other very old and
very beautiful pieces of this culture. and land of our forefathers too!
Karla and Bev shared the wonderful “Rembrandt” suite
(salon if your speaking Dutch)
Yup, Bev and the great painter himself, “Rembrandt” himself!
Traveling is a bit easier if you can bring your “family” along! We wake
to these smiles, and close our eyes at night with a prayer for them on
our lips

Want to join Karla and I for a bit of the
“Old Country?
What we saw as we sat on our balcony, Amsterdam at it’s finest!
Canals are used as streets, and are found surrounding every block of
homes and business!
Some people actually live on a boat anchored to the shore.
Beautiful architecture extraordinaire!
Parking is all over the place, but cars are little, so that helps!
No “sky scrapers” allowed in Amsterdam!
Lots of 5-6 story buildings are a norm here!
Steeples as far as the eye can see!
When I say “old” buildings, I mean old buildings!
Some pre-date the USA as a country!
( Bev will try to get more of this beautiful country on the picture
trail for your enjoyment! )

Confluent Spraygel has gone on to make
medical history and as recent as January 2004, Dr. Reich was able to validate
the Confluent Spraygel’s efficiency by performing
a follow-up laporoscopy on three ARD patients who had Spraygel
used in their adhesiolysis procedures in 2003! I was invited to be present
at oine of these surgeries and saw first hand the results of “Confluent
Spraygel” used on this patient almost on year to the date of this
second look.
All three patients were adhesion free where the Spraygel was applied!
Confluent Spraygel WILL revolutionize surgery as we know it today..
Thank-GOD for that!

Enjoy a lunch and great conversation! I am going to be a Grandma again,
and it’s a boy! WE sat around picking names for the baby and one of
them was “ Joseph!”

Ulysses, Anne, Bev and Joe say good-byes the day before we left for
our respective states.
However, before we left, I had connected Ulysses with a singer/song
writer friend of mine in Manhattan, as he was also an up and coming songwriter!
He was thrilled…and soon to be heading off to the
“ Big Apple!”

It is always so great to see some of the faces belonging to voices
